What happens at the booth
When a guest has their photo, SMS is offered alongside whichever other sharing options you have switched on. They tap their number into the keypad on the booth screen, and a text message arrives with a link to the photo.
Nobody needs an app, an account or an email address spelt out over a loud room. A phone number is the one thing every guest has on them and can type without thinking.
Sent free, by Booth Junkie
Out of the box, Booth Junkie sends the messages for you, and nothing is charged per message. There is no account to sign up for before SMS works — switch it on and it sends.
Messages sent this way come from the sender name “BoothJunkie” and use a set message template, which cannot be changed.
Part of Premium
SMS is one of the Premium features. Every licence includes twelve months of Premium; when those twelve months end the software carries on working and the licence stays valid — SMS and the other Premium features pause until you renew, whenever that suits.
Venues with no signal
SMS does not need a connection at the event. Every message goes into the Upload Queue rather than being sent on the spot: if the booth is online it goes straight away, and if not it waits until the booth is back online, then sends the lot. Failed sends retry on their own, and a number typed wrongly on the night can be corrected and sent again.
Your own name, and your own wording
If you would rather guests see your company’s name and read a message in your own words, add your own Twilio account in the Admin Panel. With your own Twilio details in place you choose the sender and write the message template yourself — thanking guests on the couple’s behalf, or pointing people at the event’s gallery.
Messages then go out through your Twilio account, so Twilio charges you for each message sent at its own rates. It is a straightforward trade: free messages under Booth Junkie’s name, or your own name and wording at your own cost.
Your Twilio details go into the SMS tab under Sharing in the Admin Panel, copied from your Twilio account exactly as they appear there. The message template is plain text with a placeholder where the link to the guest’s photo goes, so everything around that link is worded however you like.
Whether a company name can appear as the sender depends on the country the message is going to — some networks only accept a phone number — and that is arranged in your Twilio account rather than in Booth Junkie.

Try it on your own booth
The free trial runs for 30 days with every Premium feature switched on, SMS included, so you can send test photos to your own phone from your own booth before deciding.
Photos carry a watermark until the machine is licensed, and the trial is not licensed for live or commercial events, so use it to test the booth rather than to cover a booking.
