The original, from Booth Junkie
Booth Junkie developed the original Animated LED Light Ring, and it has gone on to become one of the best-selling photo booth accessories on the market. It was built to solve a problem every operator recognises: guests looking at the screen, at each other or at their own reflection, instead of at the camera.
Eyes on the lens
The ring sits around the camera lens and plays an animation as the moment approaches. People look at movement and light without thinking about it, so the ring pulls every face in the group towards the lens — and the photo catches the excitement on their faces rather than a row of people glancing sideways.
Controlled by the session itself
In Booth Junkie the ring is driven by the workflow: a step turns it on and a later step turns it off, at exactly the points you choose in the session. Controlling external devices is included in Standard, so it works whether or not Premium is active.
On a magic mirror, light it while the guest gets ready and switch it off just before the photo is taken, so its glow never reflects in the glass.
Fitted in seconds, working straight away
It clips straight onto the camera lens with its own mounting, so it goes on and comes off quickly between events. It connects over USB and needs no relay board or other hardware — switch it on in Booth Junkie and it is ready.
The General tab of the Options shows whether the ring has been detected, so you can check it before the doors open.
The mounting sits under the lens against the camera body, so the ring stays centred around the lens without anything in front of the glass.
On a magic mirror, the camera and the ring sit behind the mirror glass. The camera cannot be seen, but the lit ring shows straight through the glass — which is where it looks its best.
Animations to suit the event
The ring comes with a set of predefined animations. Connect it to a computer, open the programming software and click the animation you want — a calm pattern for a wedding, something livelier for a party — and it stays programmed.
