Which printers work with Booth Junkie?

In short

Almost any printer supported by your Windows Operating System should be supported by Booth Junkie, including virtual printers such as ‘Print to PDF’ software.

  • In fairness, we have not yet found a printer that isn’t supported.
  • We strongly recommend Dye Sublimation (Dye Sub) printers.

Why Dye Sub?

Although using an InkJet or LaserJet printer is possible, we strongly recommend the use of Dye Sublimation (Dye Sub) printers.

Dye Sub printers use a heat-transfer process rather than ink cartridges, which is what gives them their advantages for photobooth use:

  • Lower running cost per print, especially at high volumes
  • Prints are dry and ready to hand over immediately – no smudging
  • More consistent colour and faster print speed than most InkJet/LaserJet alternatives
  • Generally more reliable under the continuous use a busy event demands

Good to know: Worth the upfront cost

Whilst Dye Sub printers may appear more expensive to buy up front, the running costs and reliability usually make them the better choice for regular photobooth use.

For setting a printer up, print sizes and what each print costs to run, see photo booth printers.
