A practical order to work through Booth Junkie’s settings before your first real event, pulling together the individual settings articles into one checklist.
1. Camera
Connect your DSLR or webcam and confirm it’s detected on the Camera tab. If you’re using a DSLR in a venue with unusual lighting, set up your Tv/Av/ISO overrides now rather than during setup at the venue.
2. Print Layout
Open each shot type’s tab (Single/Multi/Strip) you plan to use and check your background and logo actually appear as expected – the starter templates are already laid out, but it’s worth confirming your own artwork loads correctly rather than assuming it does.
3. Choose and check your workflow
Decide which shot types you’re offering, and look through each one’s row list on the Workflows tab. There’s no validation to catch an obviously broken sequence, so it’s worth reading through it yourself.
4. Screen Layout
Position each screen’s elements – Selection, Live View, Print Screen, Preview Screen, Animation Screens – to match your resolution and orientation.
5. Sharing
Turn on whichever of SMS, WhatsApp, Email, and Gallery upload you’re actually offering – these are the ones that work today. Set your sharing disclaimer text if the default doesn’t suit you.
6. Extras, if you’re using them
Green Screen (tune Sensitivity against your actual backdrop and lighting), Draw step colours/emoji, Light Ring/Magic Eye if you have one connected, Secondary Display if you have a second monitor.
7. Before guests arrive
Run through a full session yourself, on the actual hardware, at the actual venue if possible. Settings screens can look right and still behave differently under real lighting or a real network connection – the only way to be sure is to try it.
